There was a very pretty wedding at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. Pemichief, 434 Lexington Avenue, Wednesday evening, June 20, at 8 o'clock, the Rev. Dr. Doremus Scudder of the East Congregational church officiating. The contracting parties were Mr. Alfred Fletcher and Miss Mary Jeanette Davis, daughter of Mrs. Susan W. Davis and the late Oliver A. Davis, formerly of Riverhead , L. I. Miss Cora J. Davis, sister of the bride, was mail of honor, and the groom's attendant was Mr. George Albright. The bride looked very attractive as she entered the parlor leaning on the arm of her cousin, Mr. A. Pemichief. who had the honor of giving her away. The parlors were neatly decorated with ferns, roses and daisies. One unique and pretty design in the decorations of the parlor was the American flag draped through the center with white satin ribbon and tassels. making a very attractive background for the officiating clergyman and contracting parties. After the usual congratulations wore over refreshments were served. On the departure of the newly married couple a shower of rice awaited them. 1875 NY CensusOn the 1875 New York State Census Henry, listed as 39 years old, appeared as the head of household with his wife Lucy, 38 years old, living at Brooklyn, Kings County, NY, on Kent Avenue. Their children, Sarah Jane, 15, Alfred, 8, and Louisa Fletcher, 6, were listed as living with them. Also living with them was Wilford Wootton, a Boarder. Both Henry and Wilford were Tin Plate Workers.

1880 US CensusHenry, listed as 44 years old, appeared as the head of household with his wife Lucy, 43 years old, on the 1880 Federal Census of Brooklyn, NY, on 935 Myrtle Ave, recorded June 3, 1880. Their children, Sarah Jane, 20, Alfred, 14, and Louisa Fletcher, 10, were listed as living with them. While Henry was listed as a Tinsmith, he and his family lived above their hardware store. A 1878 directory lists: tinwares, 929 Myrtle Av. A 1879 directory lists: FLETCHER Henry stoves 935 Myrtle av. A 1897 directory lists: FLETCHER H'y hardware h 935 Myrtle av.
A personal account by Henry's granddaughter, Lily Kroboth, mentions that Henry's daughter, Sarah Jane, played a big part building up the business. 
1892 NY CensusOn the 1892 New York State Census, recorded as of February 16th, Henry, listed as 56 years old, appeared as the head of household with his wife Lucy, 55 years old, living at Brooklyn, Kings County, NY. Their children, Sarah Jane, 32, Alfred, 26, and Louisa Fletcher, 22, were listed as living with them. Although married, Sarah Jane is listed as still living here as well as living with her husband. Also living with Henry and Lucy were their nephews, Joseph, 26, and Edward William Lee, 22. Joseph was a Decorator, Henry, Alfred and Edward were Tinsmiths. 
(Witness) MarriageHe witnessed the marriage of Joseph Lee and Louisa Fletcher on May 22, 1892 at NY. 
(Spouse) Death On September 9, 1893 his wife, Lucy, died at Methodist Episcopal Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, at age 56. 
(Second) Marriage At age 58, Henry's second marriage was to Maria Downing, daughter of Samuel Tristram and Rebecca Connell, on April 14, 1894 at Brooklyn, NY. Married by Doremus Scudder, clergyman, witnessed by Ruth Scudder.
