In this juncture, the duties of groomsman and bridesmaid for the double wedding fell upon two other Auburnians who were present, to wit, Alex W. Hompe and Miss Lillian Downing. Rev. George Fairlee, a graduated student of Auburn Theological Seminary, performed the marriage ceremony and at its conclusion the two united couples left for New York. They will return to Auburn on Tuesday next, to receive the congratulations of many friends. The wedding in Troy was at Mr. Fairlee's residence. |
