Cornelius Woelfkin, pastor of the Greene Avenue Baptist Church. The bride was given away by her brother, Oliver A. Davis. She wore a handsome traveling dress of gray broadcloth, trimmed with white satin and carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley. An alter had been improvised in the front parlor and the bridal couple stood under a decoration of two large American flags. Only the immediate family of the bride and a few intimate friends were present. After the ceremony an informal reception was held, after which the happy couple left for their honeymoon, which will be spent partly in Washington and Baltimore at the home of the groom’s mother. After going further South they will return in about two weeks and make their home at 580 Marcy Avenue. |
