Newspaper Clipping | The following newspaper article appeared in The Brooklyn Daily Eagle on June 27, 1894: FLETCHER—DAVIS . There was a very pretty wedding at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. Pemichief, 434 Lexington Avenue, Wednesday evening, June 20, at 8 o'clock, the Rev. Dr. Doremus Scudder of the East Congregational church officiating. The contracting parties were Mr. Alfred Fletcher and Miss Mary Jeanette Davis, daughter of Mrs. Susan W. Davis and the late Oliver A. Davis, formerly of Riverhead , L. I. Miss Cora J. Davis, sister of the bride, was mail of honor, and the groom's attendant was Mr. George Albright. The bride looked very attractive as she entered the parlor leaning on the arm of her cousin, Mr. A. Pemichief. who had the honor of giving her away. The parlors were neatly decorated with ferns, roses and daisies. One unique and pretty design in the decorations of the parlor was the American flag draped through the center with white satin ribbon and tassels. making a very attractive background for the officiating clergyman and contracting parties. After the usual congratulations wore over refreshments were served. On the departure of the newly married couple a shower of rice awaited them. After wishing for the bride and groom a long and happy life the guests departed for their homes. The invited guests were Mrs. Susan W. Davis, Oliver Davis. Miss Cora Davis, Mr. and Mrs. A.
