Zuzi Agneti

b. October 25, 1882, d. May 20, 1959
Zuzi (Agnetti) Hovanec 1908
FatherAndrew Agneti
MotherMaria Cincik
Note
While family records indicate they are all siblings, concrete evidence remains elusive. Baptism records have been found for all the siblings except Zuzanna and Jennie. It's possible that either Anna or Zuzanna was a half sister or cousin. Also note that the birthday that Anna uses is later than the found baptizm record. Jennie's age also questions whether she was a sister or perhaps a daughter.

(Child) BirthZuzi Agneti was born on October 25, 1882 at Czechoslovakia.
(Son) BirthA son, Jan, was born before December 22, 1901 at Muránska Dlhá Lúka, Revúca, Slovakia.
(Bride) Marriage At age 24, Zuzi married John Hovanec, 26 on November 6, 1906 at Cuyahoga County, OH.. This marriage license was issued to the assumed names of John Pavlak, son of Andrew Pavlak and Mary Bondia, (and) Annie Kretko, daughter of Andrew Agneti and Mary Cintak, her second marriage. It is unknown why John used an assumed name but one can speculate that perhaps Zuzi listed a previous marriage to explain her 4 year old son. With the exception of John's surname, the other parents names and maiden names are close to or completely correct which would lend credence that this record applies to this John and Zuzi. They were both listed as living at 844 Broadway, Cleveland.
(Daughter) BirthA daughter, Anna, was born on August 16, 1907 at OH.
(Son) BirthA son, Andrew, was born on January 20, 1910 at OH.
1910 US CensusShe, listed as 28 years old, appeared with her husband John Hovanec, 30 years old, on the 1910 Federal Census of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, OH, on 6714 Grand Avenue, recorded April 18, 1910. Their children, Jan, 8, Anna, 3, and Andrew Hovanec, 3 months, were listed as living with them.
(Daughter) BirthA daughter, Mary, was born on June 17, 1912 at Cleveland, OH.
(Daughter) BirthA daughter, Helen, was born on April 27, 1914 at Cleveland, OH.
(Daughter) BirthA daughter, Sophie, was born on March 28, 1916 at Cleveland, OH.
(Son) BirthA son, George, was born on January 21, 1918 at OH.
(Son) DeathGeorge died on January 21, 1918 at Cuyahoga County, OH.
1920 US Census Recorded on January 12, 1920, Zuzi Hovanec, listed as 38 years old, appeared on the 1920 Federal Census with her husband John Hovanec, 39 years old, and the head of household. They lived at 6429 Grand Avenue, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, OH. Their children, Anna, 12, Andrew, 9, Mary, 7, Helen, 5, and Sophie Faye Hovanec, 3 years, 8 months, were listed as living with them.
1930 US CensusShe, listed as 43 years old, appeared with her husband John Hovanec, 43 years old, on the 1930 Federal Census of Cleveland, OH, on 8624 Nevada Avenue, recorded April 11, 1930. Their children, Andrew, 20, Mary, 18, Helen, 15, and Sophie Faye Hovanec, 14, were listed as living with them.
(Bride) Marriage At age 59, Zuzi married John Hovanec, 62 on August 21, 1942 at Henry County, OH.. Family lore has it that during an argument it was let slip that John and Zuzi were never properly married which led to this "out of town" marriage.
(Son) DeathAndrew died on October 10, 1944 at France, at age 34.
(Deceased) DeathZuzi died on May 20, 1959 at Mentor Way Villa Rest Home, East Water Street, Rock Creek, Lake County, OH, at age 76.
